FIVE COUNTRIES
Every point, a household.
The ~44,000 dots below represent ACE's data-enabled B2C sales - every deployment with device-level monitoring tied to a household. Our cumulative lifetime sales are over 100,000 units; earlier cohorts and B2B channels are not shown. Coordinates are approximate for privacy.
OUR MARKETS
One integrated model. Five countries.
Local teams. Hub-based distribution. In-country manufacturing. Consumer finance. Every market runs the same integrated operating model.
FLAGSHIP MARKET
Senegal
A national rollout, with device-level carbon monitoring from day one.
Senegal faces heavy reliance on charcoal and firewood for household cooking, driving deforestation, health burdens, and substantial emissions. The ACE One enables households to cook with locally available biomass at dramatically improved efficiency - a direct transition away from charcoal dependence.
Senegal is ACE's most important market by forecast revenue. The programme is structured as a Paris Agreement Article 6 mitigation activity under the Senegal-Switzerland bilateral, with a signed compliance carbon contract from day one.
DISTRIBUTION
Hub-based national rollout
ACE is deploying its proven hub-based distribution model across Senegal. Each hub serves as a local base for sales, customer onboarding, training, after-sales service, and PAYGO repayment management, with field teams working directly with households.
The rollout is phased: pilot hubs validate the model, followed by scaling to a national network. ACE initially imports finished units, with a planned transition to local manufacturing once scale justifies factory deployment. The first four hubs are led by Daniel Walker (COO) from the ground.
- Phased rollout - pilot hubs validate, then scale nationally
- Local teams driving every hub, with proximity to customers
- Initially importing finished units, transitioning to local manufacturing
ON THE GROUND
Local presence in Thies
African Clean Energy Senegal SASU is registered and operational in Thies, with a growing local team led by experienced in-country leadership under Country Director Frédérique Sheridan, and operational oversight by COO Daniel Walker based in-market.
ACE is committed to building a lasting presence in Senegal - local hiring, local operations, local supply chain development, and local impact. Component sourcing is anchored on Vietnam (primary) and South Africa (steel), with a planned Senegal assembly factory (equipment from China; 7-10 month lead time).
OTHER MARKETS
Three regions. Each its own story.
East Africa
Uganda and Kenya, one regional operation
Nearly a decade of operations in Uganda proved formative for ACE. The distribution model, agent incentive structures, customer onboarding flow, and data systems were all refined through years of real-world iteration. Much of ACE's strongest East African talent emerged from Uganda. The Gulu factory opened in 2022 and a Gold Standard certified carbon programme has been running in-market for years.
Kenya entered the platform in 2024 with African eCosync Energy Limited. Operations kicked off in 2026 with an assembly facility in Kwale County and a coastal rollout focused on the Mombasa-Kwale region. Mombasa - with its port - is envisaged as the logistical nexus of the company going forward: the natural inbound hub for components from Vietnam and steel from South Africa into the group's growth markets.

Cambodia
Largest team, established customer base
Cambodia is ACE's largest country team and operates across a well-established rural customer base. The Siem Reap factory has been running since 2020 and handles both domestic supply and components used elsewhere in the group. The Cambodia operation demonstrated 15-20% month-on-month sales growth in early 2025 before inventory constraints temporarily capped expansion.
The Cambodia team has long served as ACE's operational core for Asia. Supply chain, logistics, production planning, and field operations leadership all run through Cambodia - Long Chhengheang leads global supply chain from Siem Reap, and Dylan Rogers leads global field operations from the same base. A potential Article 6 partnership with Singapore is under development.

Lesotho
Where it all started
ACE was founded in Lesotho in 2011. The company's first factory opened in Ha Thetsane, Maseru in 2012. The Lesotho operation runs today with 16 rural energy hubs, manufacturing, and NGO and government partnerships including the IFAD-funded WAMCOP programme.
Lesotho is where ACE learned how to run a country operation end-to-end: hub-based distribution, PAYGO, after-sales service, field data, and carbon programme design. Every market that followed has borrowed from it. Rethabile Mafura has led the Lesotho team for seven years and also serves as Netherlands Honorary Consul to Lesotho.
